Edge Hardware Engineer (Connected Infrastructure)
Every irrigation plan we generate depends on hardware sitting in a field, often far from power and further from reliable connectivity. Sensors have to keep reporting. Valves have to actuate when we tell them to. This role owns that physical layer.
What you will do
- Own the design, selection, and deployment of soil sensors and valve control hardware
- Work on the network layer that carries sensor data back from the field
- Build and maintain firmware for connected field devices
- Design for power constraints, weather exposure, and long service intervals
- Work with the software team on how field data reaches the platform and how commands reach the field
- Support installation and troubleshooting on real farms
What we are looking for
- Experience taking connected hardware from prototype into field deployment
- Embedded firmware development experience
- Familiarity with low power wide area networking
- Practical instinct for what survives outdoors and what does not
- Willingness to travel to sites when needed
Nice to have
- Agricultural or irrigation hardware experience
- Background with industrial control or actuation systems
This role is remote, with travel to field sites.
